At Kings Moat Community Primary School, we believe that it is important for children to wear uniform. School uniform can play a key role in:
• providing a sense of identity, community and belonging • setting an appropriate tone for education • promoting the ethos of the school • creating a common identity among all pupils, regardless of background • reducing clothing expenses for parents
School Uniform
Children should come to school each day wearing full school uniform, which is:
• Purple sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo • White polo shirt (optional school logo) • Grey skirt, pinafore dress, shorts or trousers • Grey socks • Purple and white checked dresses may be worn in the summer with white socks • Black shoes
PE Kit
• White T-shirt (plain with optional school logo) • Black shorts, skorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms • Purple hoodie (plain with optional school logo) • Trainers
Preschool
Whilst uniform is not compulsory in our preschool, we advise that uniform helps children to feel a sense of belonging as well as providing ease for parents. Our uniform is based on comfort as well as affordability. The following adapted uniform is advised:
• Purple sweatshirt or cardigan (plain with optional school logo) • White polo shirt (plain with optional school logo) • Black tracksuit bottoms, leggings or shorts • Trainers or pumps
Additional Information
• Long hair should be tied back. • A wristwatch and small stud earrings may be worn but these must be removed for PE. No other jewellery may be worn for school. • Children should not wear any makeup to school. • A school bag will be required. Branded book bags and ruck sacks are available to purchase from our uniform supplier. If supplying your own, ruck sacks should small (approximately 30cm x 35cm) so they are not too large for children to carry and store in school. • Children will need to bring a named water bottle to school each day.
IMPORTANT: All items of clothing and equipment must be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Affordability
We try to ensure that our branded items are affordable, and that unbranded items are widely available. If families approach school with regards to financial difficulties, we can support with uniform, in confidence.
Religious/ Cultural Adaptations
Any requests to the school regarding uniform adaptations based on religious or cultural grounds will be considered with reference to our equalities policy.
